[EXCLUSIVE] 1000 FLOWER BELL-SHAPED CUP, RAINBOW BLUE

As part of our Craft Art project, we are proud to welcome ACULI as our first guest. Based in the Verdon region, ceramic duo Lucie Baratelli and Alexandre Caillot continually refine their craft, creating modern, one-of-a-kind pieces in very limited series.

This bell-shaped cup takes its form from Qing dynasty porcelain. Inspired by both the graphic Jiaotai ceramics of Tang China and Islamic mosaic glass, the duo works with colored clay (neriage or terre mêlée). They painstakingly color, layer, fold, cut, and reassemble the clay to achieve bold, striking patterns directly within the thickness of the form. Delicate, all-over floral motifs in soft rainbow blues give the piece a poetic touch. Like every ACULI creation, it is entirely unique.
